Pipes made from plastic

and composite materials

Products

Becker Plastics produces pipes made of plastic and composite materials for transporting liquid and gaseous media. The pipes are used in sanitary and heating installations and, through our customers, in special applications such as shipbuilding or gas distribution.

PE-RT pipes

Pipes made of PE-RT (non-crosslinked polyethylene for hot water applications) are an economical alternative to the established PE-X pipes. Originally limited mainly to the area of (surface) heating pipes, today's PE-RT materials (type I/II according to DIN EN ISO 22391) offer a wide range of applications. Becker Plastics now uses PE-RT in practically all areas of application, but the highly flexible material has significant advantages for heating applications in particular.

These products can be produced as co-extruded pipes in 3- and 5-layer versions and fulfil the requirements of DIN EN ISO 21003.

5-layer versions also protect the oxygen barrier layer of heating pipes against mechanical influences and offer added safety.

Properties

  • very flexible material
  • high resistance
  • low pressure losses due to very smooth surfaces
  • hygienic
  • high impact strength

PE-Xc pipes

Becker Plastics provides electron beam cross-linked (PE-Xc) products. This cross-linking method is the only established process that does not require the use of additional chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide, silanes or azo compounds.

PE-X pipes offer significant advantages over pipes made of metal materials. There are no problems with aggressive water, flow noises, corrosion or deposits. With their low weight, they are easy to install and are ideal for all hot water applications.

Our customers benefit from over 30 years of practical experience with PE-X pipes. We guarantee decades of safety, consistently high quality and problem-free use in all areas of application.

These products can be produced as co-extruded pipes in 3- and 5-layer versions and fulfil the requirements of DIN EN ISO 15875.

5-layer versions also protect the oxygen barrier layer of heating pipes against mechanical influences and offer added safety.

Multilayer plastic pipes (CoEx products)

Today, co-extruded plastic pipes play a major role in the heating pipe sector.

These pipes combine different polymers within one extrusion step. Combining the materials in the extrusion head under high pressure ensures a perfect bond between the layers without any weak points. The oxygen barrier layer applied to the pipe in this way protects the heating circuit against the ingress of oxygen, which means the installed heating components are protected against corrosion. With over 20 years of experience, Becker Plastics has in-depth knowledge in the manufacture of these products.

Aluminium composite pipes

Becker Plastics has developed laser butt welding technology for aluminium sheathing of base pipes to an optimal production stage, combining the advantages of plastic pipes with metal. This made it possible to design the Becker Plastics composite pipe. It is durable, safe and easy to use, making it the ideal pipe for domestic installations, for drinking water supplies and as a connection pipe for radiator heating systems. The Becker Plastics multilayer pipe proves to be extremely reliable in conventional construction methods as well as in edge trim supply lines, in the renovation of old buildings, in the installation of wall or underfloor heating and in the installation of air conditioning and cooling systems.

In addition to laser welding technology, Becker Plastics also uses TIG welding units, which also enable welding with high welding factors. The combination of aluminium butt welding technology and thick-walled base pipe allows the pipe to be optimally adapted to system-specific connection techniques. PE-Xc and PE-RT (type II) are used as the basic pipe materials.

Properties

  • high level of protection against damage and corrosion
  • best surface quality and customer-specific pipe design
  • oxygen barrier
  • very good bending characteristics with high dimensional stability
