Becker Plastics plastic pipes manufactured from polypropylene random copolymer are particularly used in drinking water household installations. The PP-R / AL pipes are especially ideal when dealing with risers in high rise buildings or as a main supply line in the basement floor.

PP-R pipes without aluminium casing are also used in surface heating installations. The aluminium casing of the PP-R / AL pipes is sealed with an overlap and is bonded to the homogeneous materials of the base pipe and the top layer by means of a bonding agent. As a result, the pipes are excellently protected against external impacts.

The aluminium film, which can be perforated or non-perforated depending upon the application, reduces the thermal linear expansion of the pipe to approximately ¼ of the original value. The number of required expansion bends can be reduced or they might even be no longer required when using pipes with aluminium casing. This can be particularly important when dealing with difficult space conditions in supply shafts, e.g. during renovation projects.
